One misconception that many have about getting a flat stomach is that we all need to do a strenuous abdominal workout containing many sit-ups to have it. We all want to have flat stomachs. Not just because it makes us look a lot better than flabby stomachs, but because it’s healthy and it wouldn’t give us a hard time to try to fit in our favorite pair of jeans. We don’t even have to be shy in having a store attendant get our size when fitting for a new pair.
Bulging stomachs are usually just fats. Fats that we can burn by doing cardiovascular exercises, like running, brisk walking or aerobics. Most of us have tried doing sit-ups once in our lives, because of the belief that we’ll have sexier abs in doing so. Admit it though, didn’t we all get back pains at the end? Some of us couldn’t even go past 5 sit-ups. If you have a flat stomach already and just wanted to trim it with muscles, then that may be the best time to do those overwhelming sit-ups.
But for many whose problems are bulging stomachs, let’s all start with a little cardio. Thirty minutes of extensive cardio can give you a good start. A walk to your workplace or to the mall would be already good. Window shopping would even be better for many ladies out there. I have been a fan of running since I first joined a fun run. It’s not only healthy, but it gives you the chance to be with a lot of running enthusiasts and do it for a cause.
Running doesn’t require you to have any kind of equipment, neither does brisk walking. All you need are your spare time, a good, comfortable pair of rubber shoes, and good music in your iPod to start the ball rolling. You don’t have to join an organized fun run to start, there’s always a park in your area or a run around the neighborhood can be fun too. If you prefer to be indoors, there’s always the treadmill to start with. Let’s not forget water. We don’t want to get dehydrated, do we?
Well, these are just a few suggestions. Once you get started on those bulges, you’re on your way to flat stomach, and healthier body!
